I don't see how anyone could think that Greta Thunberg is stupid. She has a brilliant mind, and is probably even a prodigy in regards to promoting political action about climate change and in regards to her leadership ability. I am very impressed with her.

Are you sure you gave her the old "From Paradise Lost To Paradise Regained" book from 1958 (with an orange cover) and not the much newer book called "Live Can Live Forever in Paradise On Earth" book (with a red cover)? My copy of the 1958 book says "3,250,000 Edition" and on pages 208-209 it shows sky scrapers falling down, houses burning, people running scared, and the earth opening up with people falling into the deep hole (but I don't see fire in the hole). In that book I don't see a picture of people escaping, nor do I see a picture of people around a lamb in paradise. But page 217 shows people with a pet dog and pages 2224-225 shows more happy people, apparently in a paradise.
In the "My Book of Bible Stories" in story number 115 there is a two-page picture which shows people by a young deer and which shows a very young girl by a lion cub.
Maybe the book your friend is thinking of a book before 1958, maybe the "A New Heavens and a New Earth" or an edition of "Let God Be True" or maybe the "Children" book.
Maybe your friend is thinking of a Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) volume of the 10 volume set called "the Bible Story", such as the ones that used to be (and maybe still are) sometimes in the waiting area of dentist and/or doctor offices. If your friend's memory is of the people in paradise on Earth (or in heaven?) wearing white robes then it is probably a SDA book.

Isn't Canada Great, even close to a Spiritual Paradise?
by Disillusioned JW ina moment ago i clicked onto the link at https://bigglobaltravel.com/cities/funny-pictures-canada-yh/?utm_campaign=canada%20pictures%20shira1606%20dup0109%20msn%20edg%20en%20-%20desktop%20usa%20ya&utm_source=yahoo&utm_medium=msn_us&utm_content=msn.com&psl=g_61cd4e&network_code=cm which shows slides of canada.
viewing those slides (in combination with the other things i have seen and heard about canada) made me feel that maybe canada is about as close as one can get in the western world to a nation which is now a spiritual paradise, much like a new peaceful order now.
imagine that the usa would never have had a civil war.

I am not aware that Canada has been ruined, experienced a socialist takeover, nor had a breakdown in the social contract and law and order. However, I have neither heard nor read much news about Canada.

How did you feel after writing a Disassociation letter?

Update: I was slightly incorrect in saying that the "UN letter literally uses the word "disassociated" in regards to its action to the WT." I notice that the letter says the WT contacted the UN to request termination of its association with the DPI (a department of the UN). But the UN letter also does say that the DPI made the decision to "disassociate" the WT! See https://www.un.org/en/civil-society/watchtowerletter .

I started getting chocked up viewing a number of the slides. I'm thinking maybe I would be happier if I lived in Canada. I have taken at least two trips to Canada and I enjoyed each of those trips.
When the USA declared independence from Great Britain and started a war with them, the USA invited Canada to join with them in the war against Great Britain. Canada said no and eventually Canada obtained their independence anyway - by peaceful means. That greatly impresses me. Imagine if the USA had used the same process. Imagine the lives that would have been saved. Imagine that the USA would never have had a civil war. Keep in mind also that Britain abolished slavery in all of their lands about 30 years before the USA civil war began.

Do Jehovah's Witnesses interpret the Bible properly?
by Vanderhoven7 indo jehovah's witnesses interpret the bible properly?.
jehovah's witnesses see the bible as an organizational book which only the faithful and discreet slave (currently 8 men headquartered in warwick new york) can interpret properly.
the faithful slave was first appointed in brooklyn in 1919 and given the exclusive right and ability to understand and teach the bible properly.

I have written two DA letters but have not sent either one. If I outlive my two remaining JW immediate family members, then soon after neither one of them is still alive I will submit a resignation letter (aka DA letter) to both the KH and to the headquarters of the JW religion. I have written part of a book promoting conversion from supernaturalism to atheistic naturalism (though not mentioning the WT or the JW religion). If I ever finish the book I will probably submit the resignation letter before proceeding to get the book published. If I get the book published while at least one of my JW family members is still alive, I probably will have to have the book published anonymously. But, my pride in my book makes me want to have the book mention me as its author. Furthermore, even if the book is published anonymously, the WT might eventually find out that I am its author. -

A benefit of writing a disassociation letter is so that you can be on record as no longer being a part of the false lying non-prophet religion. You can show your copy of that document to people to clear your name of reproach (in the eyes of non-JWs) by showing you are no longer a part of the severely messed up WT/JW religion. In the minds of some non-JWs there is probably more honor for people who formally disassociate from the WT and its religion than in being disfellowshipped/expelled from the WT/JW religion and from informally quitting the WT/JW religion.
If you start writing anti-WT books you can include a copy of the disassociation letter in your book.
The disassociation letter could possibly even save one's life (and prevent one from becoming imprisoned for being a JW) in a country (such as Russia) in which the WT/JW religion is under ban.
Consider this: Though the WT claims they ended their status as an NGO of the UN, a document on the UN website says that the UN itself disassociated the WT! Perhaps both groups mutually disassociated each other, but I think it is interesting that the UN letter literally uses the word "disassociated" in regards to its action to the WT.

One of the annoying things I noticed about WT books and articles that are commentaries on Hebrew Scriptures prophecies is that they usually primarily apply the prophecies to events after the year 1870 (including into the future) rather than to the time period in which the prophecies were written in. Furthermore, when they apply it to after the year 1870 they do so mostly to the following: the WT/JW organization and its religion, to non-JW Christianity (which the WT calls Christendom), and to nations after the Roman empire fell. Furthermore, in a number of times they admit (or at least clam) that in regards to nations before the year 100 CE, a number of the prophecies had only a partial fulfillment, why falsely claiming the they have (or will have) a fuller fulfillment in modern times.
The prophecies in the Hebrew Scriptures were written for the Jews/Israelites pertaining to their time period and have nothing directly to do with so-called Christendom and the WT/JW religion and modern-day 'gentile' nations. The applies prophecies about the nations of Israel and Judah incorrectly to the WT/JW religion and to Christendom.
As a result of the above (combined with my disbelief in the existence of Jehovah/Yahweh God) the WT publications on Bible prophecy are thus now of virtually no usefulness to me. For me, their main utility now is in showing how messed up the WT/JW religion is.

Isn't the the quote of "..........normal family relations continue with the exception of spiritual fellowship" half true instead of a lie (though not in the case of those who are no longer in the same household)? Namely doesn't some of the WT literature teach such in the case of where a disfellowshipped family member (especially if the disfellowipped person is the husband or wife of one of the other JW members) is living in the same household as the JW family members? I know I have read such in the WT literature during the time I was an active JW. The WT doesn't want to promote the idea that a JW should divorce their disfellowshipped spouse, except in the situation where the disfellowshipped spouse is a physical danger to the JW spouse right. Right? Maybe the WT says it OK for a JW to divorce their disfellowshipped spouse if the DF spouse is a spiritual danger to the JW spouse.
Regarding the divorce rates of JWs versus that of those 'in the world', are the rates really about the same? Though I am now an ex-JW (but not officially) I still think the WT is correct in saying that the JW divorce rate is much lower.
